Methi Matar with a twist-Winter SPECIAL Recipe
Ingredients-
  • Methi (Fenugreek leaves)-chopped 1 cup
  • Fresh Peas/Matar (Green peas)-1 cup
  • Sour Curd-half cup
  •  ginger,garlic and chillies finally chopped-1 tsp each
  • Cooking oil-1 tsp
  • 1 big onion

The methi leaves have a slightly bitter taste and so they pair very well with sweet green peas.

Method

1- Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add 1/3 tsp cumin seeds and wait until they sizzle.

2- Add the green chilli, chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for one minute. 

3- Then add the roughly chopped onion. Sauté for 2 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.

4- Then add methi to the Pan ,Saute for 2 minutes,add peas and Saute for another 2 minutes,now add curd,add salt,pinch of turmeric powder and red chilly powder to taste.
stir well and cover the pan with the lid and let it cook on slow heat for 7 to 10 minutes,stir in between
5-Switch off the gas and let it rest in steam for 10 minutes.now its ready to serve
Serve it with hot millet Chapatis.
